A Passion and Philosophy for Education and Empowerment
I am a dedicated private tutor and sensei (先生) specializing in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). My mission is to equip students with knowledge, confidence, determination, and skills to excel in their academic, professional and life pursuits. Whether preparing for standardized tests like the SAT, ACT and AP exams, challenging coursework in high school and college, or day-to-day job responsibilities, I aim to give every student the knowledge and mindset they need to succeed and continuously grow. Let me help you adapt to a new way of learning, thinking, and being.
Only Students Who Want Tutoring
My standard policy is that I only tutor students who want tutoring, for several reasons. First, it is a matter of professional integrity for me. Second, this helps lay the foundation to establish a relationship of mutual trust and respect with the student – if the student doesn’t trust me, they won’t be willing to ask me for help or accept my guidance. Third, I realize that paying for private tutoring can be expensive, and I want to ensure that clients are getting good value.
Why Choose Me As Your Professional Tutor?
Tutoring isn’t just about getting better grades — it’s about transformation.
With almost 15 years of tutoring experience and over 5 years as a professional in the engineering career field, I bring practical as well as real-world insights. My academic career reflects depth as well as breadth. Having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and three Master’s Degrees (Electrical and Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Business), I bring a wealth of knowledge and real-world insights to every session. I don’t just teach subjects; I teach strategies, problem-solving, and critical thinking—skills that last far beyond the classroom. I break down complex concepts into easy-to-understand lessons.
Think of it this way: if you needed eye surgery, would you choose a medical intern or an experienced, board-certified surgeon? The stakes in education may not be as physiologically charged, but the impact of quality instruction is no less significant. With me, students get the same level of expertise, focus, and care that I brought to my academic and engineering careers.
Unlike a peer or student tutor, I bring years of real-world experience to my lessons. I don’t just teach formulas or concepts—I teach the why, the how, and the strategies that lead to long-term mastery. It’s like preparing for a mission: I equip my students with the skills and mindset they need to accomplish their objectives, whether in the classroom, on standardized tests, or in life.
Whether you’re striving for academic excellence, preparing for a career, or pursuing military service, I’m committed to helping you succeed and thrive.
A Proven Track Record of Success
Since 2010, I’ve helped countless students achieve their goals. One of my first students is now a successful engineer at Applied Materials, the global leader in materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor, flat panel display and solar photovoltaic industries. Another student is now an aviation logistics specialist in the United States Marine Corps. These accomplishments showcase their commitment to excellence and reflect my dedication to making a difference in my students’ lives.
